The Shooting Guy brand

Overview

The Shooting Guy is the online home of Rob Fodor, a professional basketball shooting coach, packaging his method into a video course sold on Teachable. To sell a course, the brand had to carry authority in an instant — a coach you'd trust to fix your jump shot.

The challenge

Teachable gives you a course engine, not an identity. Everything that made The Shooting Guy feel like a real, credible product had to be designed around it — and stay consistent from the logo to the course thumbnails to social.

  • Build instant, credible authority for a personal brand
  • Wrap a template platform in a distinctive identity
  • Launch consistently across every channel at once

Approach & process

I designed the full visual identity — logo system, palette, and type — then extended it into a launch kit: social covers, avatars, and course graphics that made a solo coach look like an established brand.

The solution

A bold, high-energy identity anchored by a shooter's silhouette and a single unmistakable accent — applied consistently so the course felt like a product worth paying for.

01 — Brand identity

One mark: a shooter, mid-release.

Brand system

The identity centers a shooter's silhouette at the top of the release inside a bold orange disc — motion and confidence in one shape.

Delivered as a complete system — original, flat, and grayscale marks — anchored by the accent #F05A26 and the Hurtmold typeface, so it held up on video, web, and merch.

Palette study — landing on a single high-energy accent to keep the brand unmistakable.

02 — The coach & the course

Built around the person selling it.

Rob Fodor coaching

Rob Fodor is the product — his credibility on the court is what the brand had to project. The design kept him front and center, from course branding to social.

Course and lesson graphics extended the identity into the content itself, giving named concepts like the "Momentum Shot" their own visual punch.

03 — Launch kit

Ready for day one.

A consistent social and marketing set so the brand arrived fully formed across every channel.
